Allen has been instrumental in starting, growing, and profitably exiting Internet and software companies for over 15 years. His industry focus over the last 6 years has been in the areas of e-commerce working at ShopVisible and online marketing (and specifically search-marketing) working at IgnitionOne.

Allen is a founding partner of Shotput Ventures (predecessor to FlashPoint) and has invested in a select number of early stage companies and served on various boards. He is a co-owner of coffee concept called Octane Pocket Bar and also publishes a blog on Facebook commerce at f-commerce.com. Allen currently serves as COO of Socialvest—a cause-based social shopping platform that melds Allen’s various business interests of giving back to the world and social commerce.
