Jason Rapp

Jason L. Rapp is the president and a member of the board of directors of Mahalo, Inc., a leading publisher of Internet-based educational and instructional videos.  The company is based in Santa Monica, Calif., and is backed by Sequoia Capital, News Corporation, CBS Corporation and others.

Prior to joining Mahalo, Jason ran an advisory business helping start-up companies with fundraising, M&A, strategy and business development.  He continues to serve as an advisor to dynamic start-ups including HipSwap, Touchera, Food52, Roadify and PublishThis.

From 2006-2009, Jason was a senior executive in Barry Diller’s IAC corporation.  He served as CEO of Gifts.com, the leading gift recommendation engine and gift card solution on the Web, and prior to that, he led the mergers and acquisitions group, where he was responsible for all acquisitions, investments and divestitures.

Prior to joining IAC, Jason for seven years was an executive at The New York Times Company, serving as Associate General Manager and head of operations for NYTimes.com, the leading newspaper website.  He also held management positions in strategy and corporate development.

Earlier in his career, Jason was a vice president at Robinson, Lerer & Montgomery, a communications consulting firm.  He also served in the Clinton White House and for the Democratic National Committee. Jason received an MBA from Columbia University and an AB degree from Duke University.
