Atlanta Business Chronicle (8/31/11): Flashpoint, backed by a nearly $1 million fund, will launch its inaugural class of tech startups on Sept. 7.

The Georgia Tech “accelerator,” plans for which were reported first on this blog in May, will invest up to $25,000 in each of the startups and help them develop scalable businesses.

The program hopes to lure promising technology, medical device and biotech startups to metro Atlanta.
